WITCHES IN THE WOODS

In which our Intrepid Hero, Mister Joseph Freeman, still does not learn the Folly of running through The Woods after Dark...

Whilst checking through the many photographs I'd taken on the previous day's expedition to Pendle Hill, I marvelled at our bravery - not least in braving the woods after sunset. The photographs revealed just how eerie our surroundings had actually been, showing a multitude of creepy, twisted tree shapes, a whole host of orbs (if you believe such things to be a ghostly presence), and far too many dark hiding places where something could've been staring right back at us! Indeed one of these orbs was revealed to be in the precise spot where we'd heard something crash away into the undergrowth just after I'd taken the picture.

The photograph which most made our skin crawl however, was the one I'm focusing on here. The woodland area in the top photograph - and the same area in the next seen through my camera's night-time setting. If you zoom in upon the top centre of the image you find what looks uncomfortably like a cluster of spectral faces gazing down from high amongst the tree tops, whilst a look amidst the trees below could reveal ghostly forms flitting otherwise unseen through the darkness, perhaps even emerging from, or going into, the very trees themselves?

As always, I leave you to make up your own minds, but take great pleasure in offering up another mystery, both to my readers and to myself!
